For example, I have a subject property that has 1682 SF on the main floor and 810 SF of finished basement (the majority of which is about 8 feet in height with the exception of some bulkheads to hide the mechanicals) and 271 of semi-finished basement that is a utility room basically (washer/dryer, freezer, hot water heater, furnace, some storage).

We knew there was some hot air in them, I expected more fraudulent folks to have created note "funds" and it pyramid down and blow up but i think a lot got stopped in their tracks when they were anticipating a rate cut and not a lot of higher % debt notes to be offered so they never indulged in such tomfoolery.

I believe that the technically correct answer is that they all moved from California to Texas and Florida, whereupon they realized that it gets extremely hot and humid in those places, has extremely variable weather, and large insects, and are now leaving Texas and Florida.
