As @JonathanGreene said, tech has created an environment that allows folks like you Jon, to enjoy investing on your terms so that you do not put all of your eggs into one basket (so-to-speak).

They do not need the money they just need to park it somewhere without worrying about it and enjoy life.I have to talk to clients over the phone to flesh out the nuanced details to get more clear on what they client wants.   

I know many successful people in this business - some have invested $$ in their education, and some have not.While it is a very short list in my opinion, there are a few good "gurus" out there who teach because they enjoy it firstly; getting paid is secondary to them.
