The house had the utilities turned off for the 6 years, and was filled with the original 1 owner's furniture, clothes, appliances, car and ecn food in the frig (without elctric on for 6 years). 

@Sean Gallagher - My initial reaction is that if you're thinking about a property manager to help oversee the daily operations you're probably at a point where you need to get one.

I have never been there personally but I have heard it's good food.

Had a newbie client that bought 5 SFR rentals and called us 3-5 times daily.

But there is no black and white guidance that I could find.And, in conclusion...1st conclusion: no FICA until the child's 18th birthday.2nd conclusion: tax law is muddy (I would add two capital letters, but it's a family-friendly forum)3rd conclusion: pay your CPA, we have to deal with it daily, and it takes skill

Just food for thought- It's not always in your best interest to provide all of the materials, negotiate too hard, refuse to pay a deposit, etc.

I like starting small so maybe a food truck in 10 or so years :)I'm currently looking for investors to do what you did except focusing on commercial residential property in Kansas City.

If it wasn't housing, food, or transportation, I didn't spend money on it. 

It is virtually daily that i see purchases or considered purchases that appear to have no path to success.  

So I am sure they don't want pesky DTR operators stealing their bed and food and alcohol revenue.
