Do the right thing (If you know you have a loose stair, fix it!)

The garden unit is nice, finished, has a kitchen, and 2 bedrooms+1 bathroom, 2 egresses, stairs connecting it to the unit above as well as an exit to the outside but ceiling height is 6'5". 

In those cases, making it easier to evict someone doesn't prevent them from putting rocks or cement in your toilet.

Turns out I have to replace the stairs and 2nd bedroom carpets.

If there was a fire and the stairs were blocked, they need a window or other door they can escape through.

Built and installed the cabinets, trim work, sanding the stairs, drywall repair/patches, demo, pressure washing, installing new doors, fixtures, etc..

I’ve seen clients kick out 8-9 stair spindles just for fun.

I have a note on my lease that "all exterior walkways and stairs must be clean of snow and debre, and free of all harzards" but do not define the area more than "all exterior" and it is a 4 family. 

But vertical uses up a lot for walkways, elevators and stairs.7.
