I sent email notification to all tenants the following day saying that this is unacceptable behavior since it can potentially cause a fire and carbon monoxide poisoning.  

I have a rental property in Detroit that I am looking to get certified, and have tried following the process on the Detroit Housing Commission website (https://www.dhcmi.org/landlord-faqs), which says " To list your property with the Detroit Housing Commission (DHC), you can visit DHC’s Assisted Housing Division office located at 2211 Orleans, Detroit, Michigan 48207.

Hello,I would like some advice or experiences on how others deal with room mates who don't follow the rules in the lease.

I would take Travis advice to heart as he is from the area.My advice was going to be to find an agent or PM or an investor who is making it work and follow their lead. 

I want to say as someone who's followed you as well this is amazing results.
