But now that it's all said and done I am wondering if I was duped because I've been told that assigning homes in Quebec is illegal (which was one way to start making money with Real Estate without putting money down) and wholesaling doesn't apply here because we have quite a strong market, so I'm just not sure where that leaves me on how someone with no money can break into investing in the Canadian market.

In your case, things are even different than RoC as Québec has a distinct land system and jurisprudence evolved from the Napoleonic code.Try reaching out to @William Johnson, he's both wholesaling in the MTL region and one of the few who seems to be having success wholesaling in Canada,

Hello, i was wondering if there is anyone knowledgeable about the differences between buildings built at different time periods in quebec (and rest of canada, for that matter). for example, what problems should i be looking out for in a building constructed around 1900, vs a building constructed in the 50's or 60's?
