Overall, I'd say 90% of the total visitors to Pai are tourists, with the other 10% expats and locals from the nearby city of Chiangmai taking weekend trips.

My initial thoughts are to be within the main arrondissements (like wards), within 10 min walk to the train, and with nice restaurants/shops close as well as some tourist site. 

The property will be a vacation rental in a major tourist area and has two HOA associations. 

Something close to hospitals, business district, tourist areas, natural beauty.

You can rent Teslas , Corvettes, etc for around $100 pretty cheap....but I'm guessing the demand is pretty strong too since we have so many millions of tourist visit every year in L.A. 

We live in a tourist area and thought about buying a cottage on the lake and run an AirBnB out of it.

We have a really cool market down here: a hodgepodge of college town, retirement community, a major military base and AirBnB-friendly tourist town with world class golfing and cycling, all with a healthy infusion of Mexican culture.

But I didn't decide to get a STR until I went out of town for a long weekend, and drove through a gorgeous little town on my way, which clearly drew a tourist crowd and appeared to be thriving.
