. § § 705/0.01 to 742/30 is all of the Illinois statue/law on landlord tenant that I am aware of, and none of that law addresses this.If your lawyer said you couldn't recover those fees in your one special case, perhaps it was because your lease wasn't written specifying how money paid would be allocated, or perhaps your lawyer knew that the judge you were going to be in front of would just throw out any claims for money owed for anything other than rent, but based on that one case you experienced, I wouldn't deduct that in Illinois it's not possible to recover those fees.
