It used to be fine and helpful, but now it's embarrassing when someone doesn't ask about Columbus, Ohio, or the midwest and you drop into a post to suggest Columbus with the benefit to you (self-promotion).

This is evident when they express their goal as “ I want to own enough real estate to provide me a $10,000 per month income to replace my salary”.  

I self manage our portfolio and know that life is probably going to be different if we have kiddos someday/my primary job really takes more time/energy out of me. 

We are going to be self managing our properties from out of state, and need someone who can show prospective tenants property, allow maintenance workers/inspectors in, and to hold our key.

And that period kind of soured me on self managing and rentals.

I self manage my own rentals and I also operate a management company assisting other investors nearby.

My plan is to self-manage the property and rent out the duplex as an STR.
