Thanks Bill, I plan to hire a management company like you mentioned.My parents have some rental properties in their home town in Latin America,And they had a LOT of headaches, nothing like what you have experienced in those 10 years.Sounds great to me!

@Jason Zhao, yes we do background and credit checks on every single tenant over the age of 18 unless they are still in school and with their parents. 

My boss's parents owned a timeshare in Indiana.

As a child there were times that my mother didn't eat so that I would have enough. 

My parents, however, are not fond of this decision.

Is it out of your job, vacation fund, retirement money added to a 401k, taking care of aging parents....You determine what the goal is and the answer will become crystal clear.

I will require parent co-signers, but I think I will do other basic things - "have you been evicted, how many people will be living in the house, are there any smokers, provide references" , etc.
