Being in Brooklyn and the expensive market here, I am looking in Union City/ West New York area.

I applied for an fha loan through a credit union and they tell me FHA does not quialify for multi residence.

Definitely look at a local credit union.

Back when I was a renter in the military I never heard of the renter paying a commission to the agent for the privilege of renting the house.
