@Valorie Lewis, have you considered getting your RE license in KS and simply working as an independent contractor for a broker?

Since the CFPB and many other agencies that affect community owners and retailers have published material making it clear that those subject to the laws and rules they are responsible to enforce must have a compliance management system or risk being adjudged a scofflaw and subject to even more serious fines, penalties, and punishments, why is it wrong to relate that in this forum.

I am currently also employed full-time as an IT contractor but, eventually, I want to be a real estate investor and landlord to achieve financial independence.

My ultimate goal is to develop a passive income and become financially independent so I have more time doing important things like...saving the world and searching for long lost treasures and civilizations.

I keep hearing about this "Furnished  Rentals" talk .. it's starting to make me wish I had attended that one -  I'm going to have to followup with the presenter and see if he has anything published - anyone care to elaborate on the some of the ideas that you found most useful?

Everything that you listed is a normal process of subdivision which is independent of assignment of a new parcel number to a vacant land.
