Naturally, though, most CA people will loose money because of management costs/issues that are part and parcel with long-distance/turn key ownership, which for most will negate the positive effects brought on by solid fundamentals...Very little magic to any of this, boys and girls :) Figure out how to make money where you are, and stop trying to outsmart the marketplace...

We both work full time jobs and have two young children (3 and 7 yo girls) so the last thing I need is something that demands all of my off-work hours.

Two of my last three tenants in different places: a young girl with a decent job who wanted to buy her own place (and did so after a year in one of my houses as a great tenant), and a "just married" young couple with one in medical school, great people.
