The wide range of experiences in my lifetime and my encounters with community planners, architects, builders, tradespeople, bankers, financiers, accountants, business experts, lawyers/judges, social service workers, religious leaders and fellow landlords has given me insight and perspective that has been invaluable as well.

I can see such a venture as a re-awakening of my creative mind and body, which is something that has been dormant over the last few years.  

There's only one high school serving the entire city, so except for the few kids going to private religious instruction or home schooled, the kids living in $500k neighborhoods and the ones living in trailer parks are going to the same school (ranked 28th overall in the state, for whatever that's worth).

The units had been purchased by a religious organization to use as meeting facilities.

This is one of the topics that is a religious war on this site.

Religious schools?  

It can be a rude awakening for someone who's never missed a payment on their chimerical loan to be turned down for a refinance simply because the bank is trying to restructure their balance sheet.

As someone else mentioned, I rather take a tenant with an attitude that pays religiously than a nice tenant that doesn’t pay on time or causes other problems.

If the rent is still on time (ie the guy has a payee or is religious about paying), consider referring him to your county mental health/addictions/adult protective services/his payee, depending on whats going on.

I would recommend staying away from specific holiday or religious items.
