Marble stains and scratches easily.

I started a thread about replacing the bathroom tiles and then someone else started one about their cultured marble installation (unfortunately I was not able to find that thread again.I was quoted $1800 by a company here in Orlando to do the cultured marble (in a shower--no tub).

Are there any legalities or statues to consider?

While putting in a new kitchen and bathroom counter recently, I noticed they had a section for remnant marble.  

I am guessing each state, and potentially each county is different, so I would absolutely recommend becoming familiar with those particular statues.

I also did a full renovation, (top of the line everything, built-in fridge and dishwasher, marble backsplash and countertops blah blah blah).

I wouldnt want marble in them either because they will easily stain.
