Little more info for everyone here.The hose was attached to the spigot and drained  before winter, as I was always taught growing up, and I`ve never had a pipe burst.

When talking with your Fire Marshall the discussion will probably come up that you need to be within so many feet of a fire hydrant (in my case it was 400 ft) and a hose would have to wrap around the building for that.

We’ve had AC units stolen, the tenants themselves stealing the appliances as they moved out; the tenants not paying for their own water and hooking up to someone else’s water with a garden hose to ‘reverse power’ their plumbing… not realizing that with their water meter removed the water was then flooding the front of their property.

The traps I was speaking of are in my shop anyway where there is no food source, yet they still like to come in and nibble on spark plug wires, rubber hoses, etc.

Once you have the grease out of the porous surface (maybe use a surficant like dish soap with a scrub brush, and let it sit, then hose it off--a few times).Just my 2 cents.
