YMMV If it was my choice i will go with lowes all the time but unfortunately theres only a few here in Queens NY compare to Home depot where you can find them everywhere

@Elizabeth Lester-Medado My initial intentions were to reno, live in the 1br unit and rent out the top to a few friends of mine.

Also excellent areas more south central valley, Elizabeth Colegrove knows that area well such as fresno, hanford.Bay area, marin county will always be inflated and over valued.

Looking to maintain empty property in Queens preferably because it’s closer to my job

But for my price range, the only multi families I can swing would be in the Bronx, maybe some areas of Queens and BK.

Prioritize those and then set your search based on your priority.I haven't lived in the area for a few years, but have lived in west Philadelphia, royersford, and tredyffrin and still own businesses in manayunk and queen village.
