Start a self-directed 401k retirement plan and max it out if you can.

Once that is completed, I will determine if I want to refinance the properties at their 10 year mark and continue to grow my portfolio, or start paying off balances and increase my cash flow for retirement. 

Should I sell at a potential big loss, continue renting, renovating/spending or explore other strategies such keep renting then rebuilding for future use as a retirement home?

Currently I live off my investments and can easily retire.

No slab houses, age restriction too i.e. expectation to be paid in full before retirement.

They won't retire you next year, but they'll retire you in the next few decades. 

Would love to get seasoned investors' advice on how they would solve this investment/tax challenge: I am about to transfer 300k from a retirement vehicle so that I can use the money to retire early.

He also wanted to cash out on several of his investments and fully "retire", hence reason for selling.

My goal this year is to purchase a multifamily property so I can successfully retire in the next two years!
