There are opportunities today where you can lock in a low rate with no points.

You've got something you were once interested in under contract and now you'd have to start over, so if there's any way to salvage it/make it make sense that's what I'd be trying to do.I locked my rate in Nov.

However, keep in mind that once you start using one platform, you are locked in there for good - if the performance of the platform starts suffering, there is no good way out.

I just locked up a duplex rented for 19k a year, all in 80k.

The most logical was if the owner rents out both units and one tenant locks out the other from a common bathroom it would be trouble.

So I would change/delete their lock code asap and be on the lookout.

@Adam WardI called Wells Fargo and inquired about a heloc (I have an existing mortgage with them) and found my account to be locked because of fraudulent behavior two weeks later.

I would recommend to lock in the owner's appreciation now by naming a purchase price on the home today.
