Here's the story: We recently purchased a rental property and since one of the units is a 3 bedroom we decided to get a lead paint inspection because in Massachusetts one is required if there is a child 6 years or younger living in the unit (which will most likely happen at some point with a 3br).

We pay the mortgage for the duplex we currently live in, but won't officially own it for another 2 years (made a deal with my parents a year ago).

I think you need to cut him out of your life and your child's, at least for a while.

NY wants to put the burden on owners/landlords to be "parents' of the tenants, and take the responsibility for housing evicted tenants or those with other challenges off the plate of the state/local governments.It's ok. 

BUT we had to buy one for one of our aging parents.

Im taking it over from my parents and hopefully with my knowledge I can get them to achieve financial freedom.

Parents have a second house, paid off, 1450 SQ ft. 4bed/2 bath.
