Makes me truly happy to see people who understand some of the 'hidden' benefits of CVLI 👍💪👏But, agree with @Thomas Rutkowski in that you'll be hard pressed to find CVLOC rates at present that beat policy loan rates.

@Brad Neihardt, I am not an accountant, but my understanding from my accountants align with Michael's comment: your actual cost basis can be depreciated, with some discretion on the timeline you depreciate your costs on.  

There was a case some years ago called the "Porter Case" discussed in detail: Porter Case thanks, I see a lot of comments, but not the case or what happened.
