LEDs are also the most efficient option, using about 1/6th the power.If the property isn't worth upgrading all the lighting to LED, compact fluorescent (CFL) would be my next choice.... for a rental.

I do like the idea of wood look tile over a traditional tile (like a 12x12) because the proportions aren't so dated, and it offers visual warmth.
