There is even service available in Spanish, which is pretty hard to find but invaluable.

I got my broker's license and acting as an investor-friendly agent in addition to my investing is a nice synergy since you can't buy everything on the market anyways, plus I enjoy helping others.

Part of it may be that I've spent some time out of the country and learned how other languages describe things (like in Spanish, one cannot "be" hungry, but "has" hunger).

We have management on site which has worked out well for the previous owner, but I would love to know recommendations for this portfolio just in case - they are run almost like a multifamily apartment building because of their proximity.One thing that I think would be a great asset would be Spanish speaking staff.

Both cities are very diverse and international (largely thanks to airport proximity) and anybody wanting to be an independent,  class-C landlord (house shares would apply) in those cities hopefully is multilingual  (any of spanish, south/central asian languages, or african languages will equal a ready clientele and built in advantage),  great at working with people,   and/or plans on hiring a property management firm experienced in the area.   

It's true that it's growng and if you speak spanish and like friendly people from across the border who freely walk across your property, it's for you. 

You are in NY, with more lawyers per 1000 people than most states (meaning more potential lawsuits).There is always a synergy between tax and legal.

The spanish economy (and political situation) continues to be dire, so there are many bargains to be had, from fincas in the middle of nowhere to new build apartments and villas on the coast-they just built too many of them.
