I currently live in san diego but will soon move to utah and start my REI journey i have 4-6 people ready to buy a house with me son im looking for the best advice and opportunity to grow.

Background: My wife and I live in San Jose, California, where we are renting a basement apartment from family for a great discount.

Long time BP member here and I figured it was time while I had a slow day to detail my story.Back in 2016 I was finishing up my Masters in Education at Texas A&M while dating a woman long distance and chose a high school teaching job in San Antonio for the better of that relationship.

Alternatively, I have been looking into the Multi Family market in San Antonio as there appears to be some ability for cash flow in that market.Any advice would be much appreciated.

My wife and I are in based in San Jose but we have lots of connections in Utah.

In addition, 5% to 8% each for maintenance and cap ex would be way too low in virtually every market but possibly not in high rent San Francisco.  

It treated me pretty well when I was just starting out on my investment journey while living in San Francisco.

But cities like Seattle, DC and San Antonio will snap back -40%, like an errant tree branch on a hike with your girlfriend when you both aren’t paying attention 😬.
