They have tons of great research.Also, try to narrow your search to a few areas and then go very deep with talking to people in those areas.For instance, the southeast, texas and west generally have great population and job growth.

Additionally, NOLO indicates that only California, Michigan and Nebraska prohibit lawyersI did not look up Kansas specifically but your "you can only seize money" statement again may only be true of Kansas.

How is Cape Coral, FL in southeast side?

I live in Southeast Los Angeles County.

With that being said, I would recommend staying away from certain neighborhoods south/east of downtown though - due to your timeline, certain spots are heavily saturated and you may have trouble competing in that market in just a couple years when you're ready to sell.
