I've found that calling closer to the holidays is best.

Aren't you planning a free event in your driveway for the holidays like hot coco for the neighbors?

, some of them have found jobs and p/t gigs with suggestions I've given.The holiday season is right around the corner and there are about to be a lot of opportunities for seasonal help.

Also, we have a 2-night minimum like many and around holidays I have been going up to 3 or 4.

They just run off the property and your credit (which hopefully is good) but b/c of the more relaxed underwriting, the interest rates are higher. 

My question is should I treat my 30 yr mortgage like a 15 and try to pay off the house as soon as possible or should I relax & pay my normal mortgage save that extra cash and still refinance 5 years later?

Not sure of proper procedure here, just don't want to be inconsiderate given the holiday season so I would like to give them more notice if it is appropriate to do so. 

You 100% need to be knocking on the door and you have a great holiday weekend to do just that.
