I've been looking at net migration/job growth/unemployment/job diversity/vacancy rates, etc.  

My market criteria are first and foremost focused on the local economy and its growth and health, as well as the general business-friendliness of the state & city.With the current rout happening in tech, migration trends, and remote work taking over I wouldn't take it for granted that SF will always have a large base of high income professionals.

I have two rental properties which are collecting rents via Apartments.com, having migrated from Cozy.  

Products arrive next week.2) Choosing between 2 web services and migrating customers into database this weekend after purchasing Friday. 2.5) New sign for property, storm took out the sign recently. 3) Come up with more streamlined process to remove perceived abandoned units over this coming weekend. 4) Migrate to credit card auto pay, remove customers who can not.

I don't keep up on local news or politics/policies that would drive companies to migrate there.

There may be some deals if forbearance ends and unemployment doesn't get extended, but I am too negative on the possibility of higher taxes and migration south to allocated my first major mortgage to Jersey City/Hoboken/Edgewater.

I'm in CA and there has been a general out-migration trend recently, so I can choose to invest in areas that are experiencing high in-migration, or business in-flow, etc* Being able to invest in more affordable areas.

There are quite a few sites and articles out there which focus on cities with high population growth or job migration trends and rank them based on future rental prospects.
