Yes they can, but it is not the only reason they could offer a higher premium on the renewal.If your area has had a lot storm related claims, like wide spread hail storms, chances are all policy holders in your area will see an increase in premiums.

And, although during the downturn jobs here got hit, they were not merely hit as bad as some of the other areas in the country.I really like the Placer County area and think the barriers to entry for the Sacramento market tend to be a lot easier than Palo Alto.The trick to any investing where you are not personally going to manage (and if you are going to personally manage you need to remember that your management may be more of a road block than hiring out the management) is trust and checking in.The reason almost everyone always recommends investing in your back yard is that you know that area like the back of your hand.

At least now it will be easier for you to qualify as a "real estate professional" in accordance to the tax code and your income from investing in real estate will no longer merely be passive income - this tax strategy on its own is a huge financial benefit.

Who will insure will depend on location and age of the building.Premium policy holders get placed into groups but they only accept nicer areas and newer properties.
