insurance claim on roof, can insurance company jack up premium?

I'm getting mixed info on this so hopefully someone did this already can help me out here:

When you have real wind and hail damage o the roof and you successfully get it replaced through your insurance. Can your insurance jack up the premium rate on you on the next renewal?

Thank you

Huy

@Huy N. Yes they can, but it is not the only reason they could offer a higher premium on the renewal.

If your area has had a lot storm related claims, like wide spread hail storms, chances are all policy holders in your area will see an increase in premiums.

I suggest you plan for it and start to plan on marketing your account with your current broker or other brokers who have alternatives your current broker is not contracted with.
