There are plenty of block that are still rough you can't sugar coat that, but projects such as the Pennovation Center and the Bellwether District are set to bring tons of new jobs and value to the area.

Property appraised for 245k; however, it was classified as a c5 which prevented most lenders from issuing conventional financing.I contested the appraisal and the appraiser held their ground, but their supervisor told me that if I slapped a coat of paint on the cabinets (these needed to be replaced due to wood rot) it would be an easy c4.I paid $520 for a new appraisal, contacted all my family and friends, deep cleaned the home and put a fresh coat of paint on the rotted cabinets and over the doors.

If we need to leave paneling we usually hit it with a coat of bonding primer and paint it.

(exactly) If it is older and needs attention, many times you may be able to do a "coating" on it, instead of replacing it.But a coating, or even possibly doing a 2nd layer, all depends on what is there and it's condition.

SAME as ^...Also, I have a buddy I just helped house hack a duplex in Raytown...he was going to try 'skim coating' over laminate with concrete, and then sealing it.
