I've been reading books on the subject (Small and Might Real estate investor) and listening to the BP podcasts for a few months now, and I was initially very excited about finding a multi-family property to start out, in order to maximize my leverage against an FHA loan.

@Hillary Buckingham I’ve seen some posts about a few good books for agents on how to grow your business and improve upon your sales.

With Airbnb prices rising, we loved the idea of investing in a few different small apartments scattered around the world so we would have a virtually free place to stay, and when we were not there we would make money off of sites like Booking and Airbnb.

Do books for every house? 

You can view their review counts to give you a rough idea on the bookings and note what their weekend/weekday pricing is to give you another form of comp.

If you think that the forums and the books have the same information and the same quality, do you read books at all?

Start by reading Brandon Turner's book, "Investing In Real Estate with No and Low Money Down."  

As soon as the property was listed, the entire morning was booked with showings, and the seller had many offers.

Most hosts in Chicago just pocket the full funds from direct booking, you would be in the very very small majority if actually paid city taxes on it.

I’m always thinking about how something will photograph so my other advice is to make sure the photos are top quality because that’s all someone has to go off when booking.
