They probably think they're just sticking it to the utility company and that it doesn't have any consequences.I lived in an area full of undergrads who moved every year because it's easier to move than to clean the house.....plus once the carpets get too soaked with beer it gets kind of gross in there.

During my undergrad I read about about investing in small multi-family properties and though "this sounds like the thing for me", only it wasn't the right time.I think that time is now, and see no reason to wait longer, except for the right property. If I've learned anything this far in life, its that "I don't know what I don't know".

It's located in a large college town (20,000 undergrads at the major university), so most of the properties are in large multifamily developments where you have anywhere from two-to-five unrelated guests living in the same property.

But I have a once bitten, twice shy attitude because I graduated from undergrad in 2008 hoping to go into finance, and was forced to work selling shoes for 2 years due to the lack of jobs...I'm sure the economy has improved slightly but it scares the hell out of me...I never want to go back to that. And then there's the issue that going back into this field would essentially kill me on the inside...I don't want to work in an office ever again.
