In order to try to save on taxes our tax man has not showed us making too much profit at all.

You could pay cash for the lot and find it is a sanctuary for the purlpe-pink butterfly that no man has ever seen, or the city has a restriction that will not allow you to build the 2-story house you want to build on the lot, or 50% of the lot has some sort of encroachment for storm drains, or the soil won't support a house.It can take a year just to get approval for what you want to build and you need to pay for soil engineering results, plan check, etc..

So, before you go boldly where no man has gone before, give this some thought.I'm sure that when some people see my forum posts they must think I'm only here to rain on someone's parade, that's not my intent, I don't like doing that, but if something is missed I think all of old hands have an obligation to the community to point out potential issues.

Since the man has moved out and does not want to be on the lease anyways, I would offer the woman cash for keys to see if she is willing to move.
