You may be able to buy Continental Girbau Econo Wash, where the units just relabeled  speedqueens.

In fact, if you can become an excellent long distance investor while you are there making better money then you will be even better positioned to invest when you return to the continental 48 in a few years.

NO tax for first ten years of owning it.. that was called the Pearl district and it worked. right now.. no one has to pay property tax's  depending on the state it takes anywhere from 1 to 6 years to lose the property for non payment of course you have penalties and in states with tax cert sales those penalties go to private investors who buy the certs.. its a huge business in those states.

@Kirk R.I'm looking at Continental Resources (CLR), Patterson-UTI Energy (PTEN), and Chevron (CVX). 

Near the Pearl and in the Med Center are two areas that are doing very well for STR/vacation rentals.

When she joins me in Korea the single-family home she occupied would then become our first rental property and we would then use the VA loan again to purchase a new home, preferably a multifamily property when the Army relocates me back to the Continental United States approximately three years later.
