If any odor/urine lingers in surfaces, any coating/painting/repairing work you do may only mask the odor ...temporarily.I'v already replaced all flooring with porcelain tile ( on slab that was probably not cleaned good enough), Kilz ceilings and wall surfaces, replaced windows and all base boards and odor still lingers.

SteelI want something that is going to last awhile, but not forever; as I will eventually have to update.2 Kitchen: Porcelain Tile vs Vinyl I like the idea of tile, but I feel like with a rental unit, the upkeep might be difficult.

This is what I have so far:Lets say I replace all of the rooms and living room w/ 10mm laminate from lowes at $1.79/SQFT at $0.99 install (I could do this myself or my wife could easily if we get a weekend during the rehab) Total = ~900*$2.78 = $2511Kitchen and baths w/ tile at about $2.40 and $0.80 install is what they quoted me for my porcelain wood tile my my house so Total = ~220-250 = 235*$3.10 = $730Floors Total = ~$3300 plus maybe $200 in prep?

Obviously the porcelain finish on a new tub is more durable(at least they used to be) than fiberglass, but keeping the caulk and grout looking good has been a chore.What about the hybrid setup steel/porcelain tub, with fiberglass panels surrounding?
