Buying vacant land is always a good option, I would check on the rules for subdividing the land before purchase, and also find out how you can add additional income producing projects to your land.

Seller agent disclosed today that the seller is filing for bankruptcy.I am already in escrow.Besides the checks that the title company will do, is there any additional steps I should take to make sure that this house is not subject to repossession by any creditors?

However, when the equity sitting in the property is at a lower interest rate, there is a cost to refinance, and the property is producing cash due to the lower mortgage amount, there is also a time to let it sit there.  

They may end up in a different state,  at a different address than that which you have on file, different phone number or don't answer. 

I'm coming up on 2 years of income produced by the property, any suggestions on how to get a lower interest rate without using personal income?
