Network with people there and develop friendships/relationships/and possible mentoring arrangements.There are a bunch of posts and blogs that are specific to tips in getting a mentor.

Hosting events at your house as couples, along with couples, is fun and goes a long way to continue to build your friendship with those locally.- Consistent online presence that has an interview component to it.

The social interactions, experiences, friendships, etc were the most important in my mind (especially if you're questioning whether the learning part is worth it).

I am offering physical labor, my knowledge, and friendship.  

But I wanted to be involved, build relationships, friendships , get noticed, and be just as hard working as the crazy cowboys in my family.

The friendship and mentorship is unique!

If he is your friend, then your attempted partnership is going to ruin your friendship.

Remember nothing is more important than friends and family, even if you do invest together keep your friendship a priority over the money.
