I would keep them sealed in a container in my basement till the day I die before getting rid of the remains! 

I thought the agent was giving it to the seller to help seal the deal.  

Teach enough to direct them into action but not enough that they can succeed without coming back to seal the deal.

The mason had mentioned that because of the freeze / thaw cycles in NYS and the sealants ability to seal and trap moisture, that he has done significant repair work.  

., it sounds like it would be a good idea to plan on caulking to seal failing siding where possible, replacing boards that are too far gone, and painting the entire exterior - even though most of the house appears to be in good shape - with a quality paint to ensure that all of the siding is properly protected against moisture.  

The hard part is finding a duplex (house hacking look up it up on BP) where you can live in one and rent the other for less than $285,500 in seal beach area.
