Once you're on the same page on relationship, I'd dare bet that while she might not browse Zillow listings for fun, at the very least she'll be supporting you on the journey and not giving you "the look" every time the tenant in your house hack does something that grates on her nerves!

The only return on investment is the % of additional value the home has accumulated when you go to sell down the road (if the market doesn't go down, or stay stagnant).And if you use a Realtor to sell your home, don't you dare call your home an investment or an asset.

I dare say, your parent's "control and manipulation" is tough love for a 26 year old young man whom they want off of their payroll.

Till you reach the "financial freedom" meme I wouldn't dare touch a car above $12-15k, and really I'd say it's better to stay under that unless you're buying a double-back seated minivan or SUV because you have tons of kids, in which case I'd bump the limit up a little as the sweet-spot for those cars is about 12-14k verses cars/trucks being more around 8k in my experience.

I know diddly squat on auto repair, so I would never dare inject and argue with an auto repair pro, I would ask questions.
