He could not get any Canadian firms to loan him any money ( HML in BC at least was not wide spread at all as in hardly anyone did it) so he reached out to US lenders.

But I agree paying a large firm $7,500 for several hours is probably not a great value add for @Lisa Gooding

Hopefully a letter from a law firm will get them to change their attitude pretty quickly.
