Pretty much any method of house-hacking in Princeton would involve some compromises, and it sounds like your husband would only be open to it if it were a perfect "very soundproofed large duplex" type situation.I think you and I talked before about my mom house hacking in Princeton - it CAN be done.

@Mark Sinclair Still haven't found that perfect property just yet--but I have zeroed in on exactly what I want in terms of Bed/bath, which community, private pool, etc.

It's not a perfect measure, but it's very close and year to year consistency is highly reliable due to limited new rental inventory

Its not always a perfect no cost, sometimes it a low cost refi, or sometimes the lender credit can be larger then the costs and its actually a negative cost refi.

I've seen some comments state that it's all about the kitchen - only a small kitchenette with no stove is allowed (which would be perfectly fine).
