Greg , thanks for the advice.There are 2 issues here1) In Schedule A of the title commitment we see "THE BANK OF NEW YORK MELLON FKA THE BANK OF NEW YORK, AS TRUSTEE ( CWALT 2007-9T1) SUBJECT TO DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE BEING ENTITLED TO A ONE YEAR RIGHT OF REDEMPTION FROM DATE OF SALE2) Schedule C "Department of Justice Lien in the amount of $3,666,647.50 against the person who was involved in some kind of Criminal activity"to answer your question its the TITLE company.

If laws were broken, I'm not going to feel bad or regret at all chasing those issues down and finding out whether or not justice makes a difference in the outcome or not.
