Greg , thanks for the advice.There are 2 issues here1) In Schedule A of the title commitment we see "THE BANK OF NEW YORK MELLON FKA THE BANK OF NEW YORK, AS TRUSTEE ( CWALT 2007-9T1) SUBJECT TO DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE BEING ENTITLED TO A ONE YEAR RIGHT OF REDEMPTION FROM DATE OF SALE2) Schedule C "Department of Justice Lien in the amount of $3,666,647.50 against the person who was involved in some kind of Criminal activity"to answer your question its the TITLE company.
