Keep in mind some properties are economically obsolete … along with functionally obsolete.. be careful.. in this day and age with the internet and this irrational exuberance to be landlords there are not many markets that are totally under the radar that are viable..

I do prewire my units of cable and internet but no one uses the cable.

So, since it starts with “rising unemployment” I assume the author doesn’t own a computer or can’t afford internet access.

Some folks are willing to take the risk in the gamble for appreciation, especially here in CA, they are typically purchasing when the market is down, not high as it is now.

The way to make it less annoying is to gamble (like a dollar) with your family for which property the wholesaler wants before opening the mail.

Most of the people you hear from on the Internet are crooks trying to fill their pockets, not yours.  

It is not gambling per se, there are real wells with real chances of finding oil, but it is not another class B multifamily value play for sure.
