It's a 1970s colonial revival with an addition that was likely tackled in the 90s based on the finishing materials (the bank didn't supply information on when the addition was completed).

Unfortunately, after seeing (smelling) this problem about once a day for the past few months (it started about 9 months after the house was built), I haven't been able to reproduce the issue since I posted this on BP a few days ago.So, don't take my lack of updates as indication that I'm not appreciative of the advice...once I reproduce the problem, I'll let you know what I find and how I tackle it.Thanks again!

All I can say is I hope you got it resolved and it's a good lesson to build relationships with multiple vendors so this never happens to you again or if it does you have a bunch of vendors familiar with your property who know how to tackle the problem and get it fixed quickly.

, the countertops would be replaced (not as important but definitely needed), painted, cleaned, tub would be tackled and re-caulked, the garage door would be fixed, and that would all get done before the move in date.

Do a few like that to build up some cash and then you can easily go tackle a land project when you have more cash to work with.
