Any specific platforms you recommend or suggest avoiding?

If you do go the Ikea route for any furniture, always start on CraigsList or FB Marketplace for used items.If you're renting the space on platforms that don't rely on reviews like Airbnb/VRBO, you could probably keep the furnishings to a relative minimum and help keep your start-up costs down.

Which of these towns are suitable for cash-flow with multifamily investing in your experience with good income growth and appreciation?  

From my experience, the reps at section 8 truly want to find suitable housing for their voucher holders hence I would be very suprised if they lowered the rent beyond the current rate.

I've used several "light" management platforms and landed on Avail (Avail.co) for the last five years or so. 

I wanted to add that I have been a skeptic of Roofstock in the past and voiced some concerns over process and control for buyers on that platform.
