Have your main influencer (spouse if applicable) read "Rich dad pot dad" let them know it's just so they can understand where you are coming from.

To put it plainly, I value his influence in the local circles and his connections throughout town.

There are resources you can find that lay out different methods for building up your sphere of influence, but I personally like catching up via phone, meeting up for coffee, or doing something fun as a touch point.
