I have bought on great streets and next thing I know, someone moves in on the street and changes the entire culture. 

We play basketball, watch a lot of TV, and will buy products endorsed by celebrities.

I do appreciate the points, all very well taken.YUP one just needs to read the Clayton Morris threads on what can happen when you do not visit what your buying and your buying on the faith of a celebrity / guru.. 

Salvageable homes should be rehabbed to keep the history and culture alive with in a city.

I think its more the quality of the tenant than the management company in that case, BIG difference in culture between the two cities in that price range.I had rehab crews so really never turned anybody loose to make extra money by doing unnecessary repairs or over paying for them out of ignorance on your dime.  

  $100 is reason to celebrate!

Where is the PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY in our culture?

Other cultures tend to have stronger family ties and can make these situations work, I don't see this becoming the norm in the US at least not in the foreseeable future.
