Also, volunteering your time for charity always feels good even if it doesn't produce any income. 

Why aren't you focused on the efforts of nonprofits and concerned volunteers to turn it into "Angel's Night"?

I'm putting myself into the community, I'm volunteering and joining groups.

I didn't really leave the house until Friday - Unless you count volunteering at church & searching for friends/family at the Lamar Dixon shelter.

I would volunteer but I am going to be so busy next month I don't know how much time I would have.

(a box of donuts in the morning or a weekend of volunteering may open some doors....)also maybe you can just provide the housing to the charities/foundation and they deal/screen/manage the group. this will also tame any neighboors serial-calling police ....

This will get you to know that market very well before you even invest a penny on buying yours, you will be able to make quick cash from the assignment fees and do a lot of the leg work for moving the properties, volunteer with a wholesaler that is doing just that and you will be successful.

I also give to my heart,  the Volunteer Fire Dept I was fortunate to be a part of its creation and building before I got sick.  

Once you've got your accounting squared away, get with your neighbors and attend a board meeting as a group to voice your concerns, volunteering to head a committee to find a new management company.
