Many of my tenants jobs are in local government and schools so those jobs are going nowhere irregardless of the economy.

Hey Jonathan,I work for a local government in the midwest in the city's development services department.  

This obviously doesn't work with government loans, but for conventional loans I have had way more luck with the 'get a new appraisal & point out flaws in the old one' approach than I have with trying to get an appraiser to admit that they made an error.

The Federal Government also added a "stress test" on new mortgages.
