All the other years were single digits and there were 6 years were the inflation rate was less than 3%, and 18 years where the inflation rate was between 3% and 7.6%  I copied the numbers exactly for BLS, and you can "trust but verify" by taking the time to look up yourself before saying your government stats are wrong.
